Innerspring

Innerspring is a traditional style of mattress construction that’s been around since the early 1900’s and is generally more price sensitive. Steel coils (the springs) are connected to one another and provide the basis of mattress support. They have always offered a stable feel, but with recent improvements and technological advancements, innerspring systems are now better at providing proper support and body alignment. Due to all the connected springs, innersprings systems are more prone to motion transfer.

Pocketed Coil

Pocket Coils are individually wrapped coils that contour to your body’s shape and weight. The wrapped coils each work independently of one another and are designed to provide conforming back support, pressure relief, and minimal motion transfer. A wrapped coil support system provides a lighter, more buoyant feel, and at the same time offers dual purpose support by both absorbing weight and pushing back so that it conforms more easily and provides full body pressure relief.

Memory Foam Mattresses

Memory Foam

Memory foam material dates back to 1966 when it was developed by NASA to absorb shock in airplane seats. Since then, “slow spring back foam” (as it was initially referred to) has been used in NFL helmets, hospital beds, shoes, prosthetics and more. Memory foam has evolved in recent years, and technologically advanced foams are common materials in mattress construction. It functions as a great mattress material for many reasons. It evenly distributes weight and pressure over an area, giving many sleepers pressure point relief. The foam contours to each individual’s body shape, allowing for a high level of mattress personalization. Memory foam is also resistant to movement. If your bed partner gets up frequently or tosses and turns at night, the activity doesn’t ripple throughout the entire mattress. Now, advanced memory foam technology (specifically gel infused) helps keep you cooler while you sleep.

Hybrid Mattresses

Hybrid mattresses combine the benefits of coils and the benefits of memory foam. You get the best of both worlds! The coils are generally on the bottom to provide support, airflow, and a lighter feel. While the memory foam is generally towards the top of the mattress providing pressure relieving support and minimal motion transfer. Hybrid mattresses are generally the perfect choice for those who want the benefits of memory foam but also want more of the “feel” of a coiled mattress.

natural talalay mattresses

Natural Talalay Latex

Natural Talaly latex is a healthy, natural and buoyant material that more and more people are gravitating towards for their sleep. It is best known for being a natural product that easily surpasses traditional foam cushioning materials in pressure relief, durability, and airflow. It gently conforms to the weight and shape of your body to eliminate pressure points, which increases blood flow and circulation and reduces tossing and turning, so that you sleep more soundly. Nothing compares to the conforming yet buoyant feel of exclusively produced Talalay latex made in the USA, and the word most often heard when people first lay on it is “wow”. It also does not transfer motion and naturally regulates and balances temperature throughout the mattress, ensuring a peaceful, relaxing and comfortable night’s sleep.
